Background

At 16 years old I was advised, by multiple Medical Professionals and Chiropractors, that I would be in a wheelchair by 21 if I continued with my sport and passion. This was due to the many significant spinal injuries in competitive Showjumping.

Giving up my passion was not an option, nor was a wheelchair.

So the seed was planted to find a way forward, one which lead me to a lifestyle of intelligent and corrective exercise.

Since 1996, living in an environment steeped in educating, motivating and guiding clients to over come the pain, and fear of their bodies, has brought me to this point.

The daily quest - reawakening the trust, freedom and balance of natural movement patterns and overall wellness within each client.

“Aiding you, to help yourself, to live in optimum health and wellness”

Her positive teach manner is one that demands precision yet is never discouraging….This experience has lead me to refer patients that I have treated for musculo-skeletal dysfunction to Leigh as she adapts the exercises so that they are appropriate for any client, whatever their physical ailment might be.

Experience

With over 20 years in the rehabilitation and wellbeing sphere, I have had the pleasure of working with a vast array of clients presenting physical ailments and restrictions that result in various levels of pain. This pain and restriction, understandably, results in clients becoming fearful of their bodies and movement in general.

Through the application of, and dedication to the Stott Pilates method, numerous clients have overcome these hurdles and gone on to discover a new found freedom, balance and comfort within.

The experience garnered while working with The Cancer Centre patients, taught me a great deal of understanding, empathy and of gently nurturing optimism.

All of this accumulated experience has brought me to a point where, with confidence I can say, that regardless of your ailment or goal in mind - the Stott Pilates method can assist and develop a greater wellbeing in oneself.

”In the first few years Pilates was a rehabilitation experience, but I consider now my weekly session with Leigh as another sport and a physical challenge…I believe that to extract the most value out of Pilates there needs to be as much effort from the teacher as the student, and in this regard Leigh’s input, care and dedication throughout the class is nothing short of 100%! In addition her knowledge on Sports Science and body overall well-being is world-class.”
